A Misunderstood Show

Right off the top, I LOVE this show. It is one of my top 5 favorite shows of all time. But boy, I have read reviews that just despise this show, and I don't understand why. If you think about the fact the show was replaced by the way more popular Mind of Mencia, and you get a better idea of where the average American's sense of humor lies. Subtle, absurdest humor is much more difficult to open up to than rants on racial stereotypes and midget humor.

Stella purposely, gleefully made no sense. It took cliches from every aspect of life (TV, film, jobs, politics) and just messed with them to be silly. Stella was a brand of smart, silly humor usually reserved for the British ( Monty Python, The Goodies). Americans like our yelling and name calling and In your face style humor. Or we want King of Queens. Not bad, just easy to understand.

Please, at least give the DVD a try. It's just silly. But silly is OK. Don't ask why they grow vegetables in their apartment, just enjoy the consequences.
