About The Show

A documentary about Oscar Pistorius whose parents, after having a son born without bones in his lower legs, made the difficult decision to have his legs amputated. Against all odds, Oscar developed a passion for sports, and at the age of 17, the so-called 'Blade Runner' won the Sprint Gold Medal at the 2004 Paralympics in Athens. In 2007, the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation) banned the use of technical aids in sprinting. Oscar's hopes were dashed, but he went on to challenge the IAAF's decision to rule him ineligible for the able-bodied Olympics. Grueling tests and heartbreaking news were never far behind as Oscar chased his dream. This documentary charts the courageous plight of the double amputee from South Africa, as he chases his dream to compete in the 2008 Olympics in China.
