Teddie Cochran is a single New York career woman who falls in love with Max Ryan, a successful political writer. Now living with Max, Teddie's new home is a sprawling house in the suburbs and her new family includes stepchildren-to-be Carter, an unpredictable 13-year-old; Eliza, an emotional 6-year-old; and their caregiver Gladys. Teddie learns that being an instant mom and balancing career and family are not as easy as she thought. Determined to maintain her identity in the city, she continues in her successful career as head of a non-profit company that pairs celebrities with worthy political causes.
