The Inspector Lynley Mysteries

Thomas Lynley investigates the murder of a young deaf student named Elena at Cambridge University, a murder that may be linked to a suicide months before. The investigation leads Lynley to investigate Elena's step-mother and past lovers. Barbara Havers' concern over her mother's increasing Alzheimer's is only compounded when she realizes her care worker is scaring the older woman into being quiet by pretending a cane is a snake.
