Shelley Duvall's comic recreation of Washington Irving's chiller about Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman who rides through the countryside every Halloween. Ichabod Crane, a shy, skinny and scared schoolmaster, arrives in town and falls in love with Katrina, a local lass. However Brom Bones, the town bully, had been courting Katrina before Ichabod's arrival. Brom wants to win Katrina's hand so desperately that he schemes to rid Sleepy Hollow of the timid school teacher by scaring him off.
