The Littl' Bits has been regarded by many nostalgic American children of the 80's as an evasive show of their childhood involving "little people" - elf-like children who partook in many adventures... but many cannot place the name of the show.

This show was a favorite of mine when I was young, but it had dissolved to the far corners of my mind until about three years ago, when my memory was triggered by a websearch on a nostalgia site.
This show is an old anime from the 70's that contains tiny forest folk - little people known as the "littl' bits" who live in a place called "Foothill Forest." The main characteres are children - Williebit, Lillabit, and Snagglebit.
Dr. Snoozabit, who is true to his name as he is always napping, is Lillabit's uncle and the town doctor, who raised Lilly from a child. Williebit has a little sister named Teenybit who is often making mischief and getting into trouble. Teenybit has befriended the town witch, Scarybit, who frightens most townsfolk purposefully to maintain her privacy, although in reality, she is quite gentle, often trying to hide her obvious affection for young Teeny. Snagglebit is the bratty son of the pompous mayor.
Willie and Snag are both in persuit of the lovely Lillabit, and consequently, they often butt heads. Lillabit seems to subtly portray affection for Willie, but being a kids' show, there are only minute hints displayed.
The children, along with Browniebit, chip, and sometimes others, with the company of their friend Blue the hedgehog, and Snuffly, the flying Squirrel, partake in many adventures involving forest friends, caves, mountains, and sometimes mystical happenings.
This show is cleverly plotted, quick to grab attention, and it is quite easily to fall in love with the adorable and memorable characters! Many important issues are addressed, such as responsibility, patience, prejudice, hard work and the value of family and friends.
This is a wonderful show for the young and the young at heart.
