I don't miss this show but here's what would make it better:
1. Lose the typical antagonism between the detectives and the boss--this doesn't happen in real life--maybe prior to 1975 but not today.

The red-john thing is really getting boring. It puts the show into the same old pattern of all the others "this is personal".
