OK, it's stupid. Of corse it's stupid. You aren't going to mention you watch it at a party where people are discussing Kant's Critique of Pure Reason. But it was so stupid I laughed. I laughed the whole way through. The combination of a ridiculous premise and great comedic timing was a welcome break from a TV landscape full of autopsies and gunfights, followed by the late news that is even more depressing.
The reviewers are all going to hate it. Everyone who wants to sound smart is going to hate it. And I have no idea how on earth (or any other planet) they are going to keep the story line going. But if you want to spend thirty minutes once a week escaping the world we live in and sneaking back to the silliness of Mr. Ed or Bewitched or I Dream of Jeannie, you might want to give it a try. You can tell people you were reading Kant.
