End of an era

After seven seasons of assaults, theft and murder, a show that was on the cutting edge of insanity has come to an end. Even though most of the scenes in The Shield was a little far fetch, the show did provide a lot of mindless entertainment. Which is not bad because I did enjoy the movie Super Bad last year. Each week, viewers were kept in suspense to see if Mackey would finally get caught. In the final episode, I was a little disappointed that Mackey got away with murder. The rest of his crew got what they deserved but I think a better ending would have been if Ronnie could have shot Vic just before he got arrested in the Barn...Just a thought.

The series is set in a tough, morally ambiguous world in which the line between good and bad is crossed every day. It focuses on the tension between a group of corrupt but effective cops and a captain torn between bringing them down and his own political ambitions.
