I am fed up with this show. The judging is not consistent and obviously there is more involved in the judging than the quality of the food that the contestants present. In season three Tre was sent home because he was the leader of the team that lost the Restaurant Wars segment, yet in subsequent seasons the leader of the losing team didn't get axed when the same problems arose. This season there were at least two occasions when Jamie should have been sent home, yet she was allowed to stay. Marcel was allowed to stay longer than he should have. Then on the 2/2/11 show Tre gets sent home for his risotto because it didn't spread out on the plate the way "real" Italian risotto is supposed to, yet Mike Isabella, who is Italian, who grew up eating Italian food, who bragged that he would probably win, who said he would be embarassed to be sent home for performing poorly in an Italian food challenge, sent out undercooked pasta that should have caused him to pack his knives and go home. Yet Isabella got to stay. You could tell by the look on his face that he was shocked that he wasn't sent packing. Dale also sent out pasta that one judge basically said was not fit to eat, and HE gets to stay. I don't watch many "reality" shows, and I will be watching one less after tonight. Good luck to Carla, Tiffany, Fabio and RIchard, but as far as I'm concerned Top Chef is a joke. It's just another "reality" show whose only reality is that it is UNREAL when it comes to fairness, consistency and integrity. I hope this is the last season, but I know it won't be. Top Chef is just a part of the UNREALITY that now exists in the world thanks to television. I am glad that my only child is almost 40 because I'd hate to try to raise a child in today's society with the likes of Top Chef and all of the other competitive shows which purport to reward "the best" but in actualilty, rewards the sponsors who put up money for what amounts to TRASH. God help us all.
