This show started out well, but then quickly degenerated into stupidity. WHY can't people make TV shows and movies which accurately follow the books? The books are well-written and funny, with plenty of action and drama; so WHY these insane departures?

This show is good for the most part, except when Sookie is on the screen. She takes the cake for me as the worst female protagonist in the history of television. I just finished watching all 3 seasons of True Blood on DVD and have to say I was hooked. This is one of the rare show shows that can make being bad look so good.
