Why does Wipeout succeed where so many others have failed? 1) Jill is hot, she makes good eye candy. 2) Everyone is having fun. They are not there to show themselves as the most amazing phenomenon to have hit television, which makes it so all can have fun, and we need some of that light-hearted entertainment. 3) They are massively creative. Every week those sadists have new ways of making people bounce around in comedic fashion. 4) They allow all to partake in the obstacle courses. They allow all who are over the legal age limit to take part. It doesn't matter their background, their weight, or anything else. It is a real American ride. 5) They keep getting better. Wipeout is not a one-note wonder. The crew have really developed their timing. They are increasingly comfortable with eachother, and with their concept. They further explore the possibilities each week without staying in one line of thought.
Anyway, those are my ramblings. I'm grateful for quality fun television like this where no one gets hurt, but you see some crazy body positions. It's nice not to worry about language, violence, or sexuality, but to have a show you can just enjoy. Keep up the fantastic show!
