This is definitely one of the better shows. I love how the characters develop over time, e.g. David from being really uptight and closeted at the beginning to becoming more openminded after coming out of the closet. The humor is great, too, and it is wonderful to see that a show finally takes on the difficult theme of death and dying and does it in such a intelligent way. Why can't the networks produce such quality work?

I began watching Six Feet under the first night it aired. I was skeptical and watched it just because it was the only thing on. I was hooked with that first show. The characters, the scenes, the beauty they could make under such grim circumstances. I own all 5 seasons and I watch them often. I would have loved for it to last just one more season. I guess all things must end.

this show! it is dark and quirky and hits you in the gut. can't get enough of it! as soon as i have the funds i will buy the entire series and watch it over and over. i've never seen anything on TV this great.

I have been a loyal fan of the show since the first season aired on HBO in 2001. I'm glad that more people will be able to experience what may possible be the best show in TV history. Like Alan Ball's (series creator) American Beauty it's dark, funny and poignant without coming off as pretentious. Somehow these characters seem more real. More flawed. And like real people you they can be your favorite one minute and you can hate them the next and then forgive them at a fault. No one is above scrutiny. If you have seen any HBO you know their shows quality can be far superior to many Hollywood movies today. I love HBO original series. And yet somehow Six Feet Under manages to take that quality writing, directing and acting to another level. Far more accessible than The Sopranos, it's a show that will haunt you long after you've seen it all.
