    Casting Director a genious, but...

    February 3, 2007
The director and/or screen writers have convoluted the story of Superboy/Superman from its original story line.

I'm 61 years old. I remember the original story line. You have strayed too far away from it for the sake of "sensationalism" for TV.

The original had more creativity than you have revealed, by tampering. The original had a plausable, scientific basis to everything that happend, but your TV script writers have apparently been watching too many idiotic saturday morning cartoons. They've incorporated the absurd.

The original comic book story-line of Superboy/Superman made sense. Even then, we (as readers of the comics) could write to the publishers and ask for explanations as to how certain things could be possible. They would reply (in their next issue) to the questions, and each answer made sense! Plausible explations!

Your episodes have Clark Kent facing Kryptonite constantly! It weakens his character image as Superboy/Superman.

You couldn't have picked anyone who looked more like Superboy/Superman that your current star, Tom Welling. He's a natural for the part. But, please don't continue presenting him as a love-struck weakling and fool. Superboy never was! He was a true hero by virtue of being raised by the Kent's! He was raised by them to be stronger in character than your writers present him now. Your writers may be just too young to remember or realize that there is only one Superboy! He is NOT Hollywood's creation to bastardize for TV ratings!

Get back to the basics. Your TV shows will be better without "artistic interpretation" from a group of young writers who never read the entire series of comics, without having heart and soul to understand who and what Superboy/Superman was. They aren't "bad" writers; they seem to veer too far away from the almost INVINCIBLE POWER and extreme intellect that Kal-El had, naturally.

I don't remember that Superboy/Superman was ever love-struck, baffled, and weak emotionally. Yes, he had feelings! But, he was superior intellectually, and it served him well to serve humanity.

Had he be raised in New York or Hollywood, CA he wouldn't have had the upbringing (by the Kents) that gave him decent, mid-western moral values! Those values imparted to him (by them) saved our planet, time and time again!

By the way... the actor who portrays Lex Luthor is superb!

    Great Show!

    January 11, 2007
This show is great. It has action, drama and a great story line. I recommend this story for fans of superman and Justice league. This show get jipped out of awards such as the peoples choice awards and other TV awards because it is not on the major networks but as long as the fan base keeps up this show will be on for a while. If you watch ABC family you can catch up with the story if you just started to watch.

    In Response and own thoughts.............

    February 7, 2007
To Larry C. I must say that though you do bring up valid points about it not following the original line of events that is in the original comics. (Though i am only 22, i have read them). You have to realize as well that the producers had to alter some things as well because of legality. They couldn't do certain things in the show that we would respect. I would say that I enjoy the protrayal of Clark as a youth. He does have strong parents and is a strong character. But he is still a teen, even without super powers a teenager is still never going to be perfect or make the right decision. However Clark has a good heart and willingness to help other and to do what's right. He believes in justice and that is what Superman is all about. I believe his protrayal as a youth helps other youths who watch to see that there are consequences for your actions whether good or bad. You see Clark evolving into the man we know he will become. It's a fascinating show that is both intelligent and fascinating and realistic. And in my own opinion the only thing that absolutely drives me crazy is him not getting over Lana Lang. And ignoring the devotion of Chloe. She is so much better for him.

    Smallville in General

    January 31, 2007
I relate to Smallville, because I am from Danville, Kansas population 70. Besides the small Kansas farm boy life, Smallville has a very well written script. The little plugs about Clark wearing red, dukes of hazzard song playing on radio, Lois kissing green arrow (Clark), name with Justice in it, keeps me wanting more. I really wished they would tease us with Clark's flying capabilities as earlier seasons, Clark sleeping and waking up miles away, or jumping buildings in a single bound. It is such a tease to see Clark so close to flying, but knowing that will never happen. We need to see more of Clark's powerful breath and laser capabilities as well. The future episodes of Clark joining the justice league with the other hereos and fighting Lex and his crypto freaks is a terrific idea. Don't forget about Clark going to college while trying to save people and how he can't possible save everyone, everywhere even with all his powers. Play with he idea of Clarks "S" symbol more, glasses, superman suit teasers, and his double identity. Maybe have Clark jumping really high but not quit flying would be really fun. Levitating when he is not trying to. Keep the audience guessing will add to the much success of the show.

    Thank You Smallville
