Nuclear protestors threaten the destruction of Charleston, South Carolina, unless warheads stored there are de-activated, in this unique, taped (rather than filmed) simulated newscast that received an Emmy Award as Outstanding Drama Special, with Emmys also for the writers/producers Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick. Zwick also was nominated for his direction, as was the video tape editor. So realistically staged was this production that frequent disclaimers had to be superimposed at the bottom of the TV screen.
