For awhile there, it seemed have have dissappeared and is now back in a regular time slot where I can catch up on a missed episode. Although I enjoyed the show in it's heyday, it didn't have the same appeal for me as TNG that came before it. I think the last year or so saw some dramatic improvement, but there could have been some better conclusions and tighter story lines.

Still despite all that, it remains one of my favourite shows but not at the top of the list.

I really enjoyed DS9. TNG was the scientific ST but DS9 was the political / religious ST. I liked all that I was able to learn about Bajoran, Cardasians, Dominions, and the Founders. I think all first seasons of ST shows are disappointments but the later seasons of DS9 really gave me something to like.

Sad to say, but I was turned off by the poor acting. From Avery Brooks taking every opportunity to show that 'my voice is as good as James Earl Jones' and giving Wm Shatner a run for his money with scenery chewing to Nana Visitor's permanent PMS approach to her role- I lost interest. Then the story line (if that's what you want to call it) was all over the map...the Dominion, the clones, the Cardassians, the 'prophet' thing....what a mess! And what to do with Jake Sisco- poor kid.
I tried to sit thorugh it several times, but then Avery Brooks would start 'acting' and then I'd switch to HGTV. Sorry- Voyager was way better!

Although some die hard Trek fans once thought this show would
fail, this incarnation of the Star Trek franchise only grew better
with time.

With a diverse and talented group of actors being life to some
of the most emotionally deep characters on television, ST:DS9
quickly and easily became a staple in Star Trek lore and history.'

Other later shows like ST:Voyager and ST:Enterpise are also
worthy of mention. However none have yet (In my personal
opinion) to live up to Star Trek Deep Space 9 and the lasting
impression it has made on SCI-FI as a whole.
