I can wait for the next seasons

    December 7, 2006
Both Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1 are awesome shows. I love them both and they both are really great shows. I love all the technicalities and computer generated backgrounds and so forth and the weapons and ships are really cool. They really make these shows seem real. They are really doing a great job making these events, characters, locations, weapons, and ships seem real. Every time I watch it, it's so intense and I feel like I was there myself. I love every episode. I can't wait for the next season. All the characters rocks. Anyone who have not or have not really been watching it, do watch these shows because it's really great and mind blowing. It's easy enough to follow. I hate Star Trek and Battlestar Gallactica but I really love this one. That's how great they are .

An amazing spinoff of the original

    August 14, 2007
I've been a Stargate SG-1 fan for some time now, and since there appears to be a severe shortage of intelligent shows on TV, I thought there wasn't anything decent to watch before Friday night.
    I was wrong.
Stargate Atlantis is one of the best spin-offs I've ever seen. Its visuals and CGI are pretty incredible considering the TV budget, while the characters have a wonderful chemistry, which is one of the most important things for a show. Unlike some series (Star Trek: Enterprise comes to mind), these characters have genuine life and feeling behind their faces. Each has a unique personality that aids or abbets the others regularly.
The plot takes place in the Pegasus Galaxy, where the team discovers the lost city of Atlantis (yes, the one that was in that lousy Donovan song). Some aspects of this weird galaxy are similar (all human-like people speak English, you need ZPMs to power stuff) but the team discovers a new enemy: the Wraith. Think pale vampires that use their hands to suck your life out instead of biting at the neck and you get the idea. And so the newcomer humans spend their days fighting off the Wraith and going to other planets spreading peace and harmony (okay, not really).
I recommend being at least somewhat familiar with Stargate SG-1 before viewing Atlantis; however, Atlantis does a successful job of creating its own little universe/community, so the two do not necessarily have to go hand in hand.
A great show with excellent characters is hard to find, so I happily endose Stargate Atlantis. It's good, clean fun (PG, with a couple episodes in the area between PG and PG-13); as soon as the show starts up again, I know I'll be glued to the television on Friday night.

    Good Carry Over

    March 13, 2007
I believe Atlantis came into existence at the right time. SG1 had done it's job at laying the ground work, for a different story line. Atlantis often is weaved into SG1 and vice versa, which in essence creates one big Stargate show. I would recommend this show to anyone who enjoys witty drama, interesting plot twists, and the realm of science fiction.

    Fun & Exciting

    January 5, 2007
I enjoy almost all of the characters. The chemistry between them is wonderful, and the humor throughout each episode is great. I love "catching" the actors laughing at each other or making a facial expression that you just know means they're about to bust out laughing or they weren't expecting the way a line was delivered. The writing is great, and the characters themselves are interesting. The only downside for me is the Genii episodes. Most of them, with the exception of the Genii guy who was in Profiler, are rather bland. Colm Meaney was great in his Genii role, but I just can't care enough about the Genii to enjoy those episodes much. I do enjoy how this is a series that I can watch with my husband and we BOTH enjoy it.
