12th edition changes the format by making four tribes vying for the $1 million prize, each divided by age and sex - older men, younger men, older women, and younger women - for at least the first episode. The second episode will then combine the tribes into two. Also, one contestant each week will be banished to a separate island where they get a chance to get back in the game by finding a hidden "immunity idol."
