To help with their finances, the Formans hold a garage sale. Things don't go as planned when Hyde make his 'special brownies' for the baked goods table and Red sells something that was of importance to Eric. Meanwhile, Fez puts unexpected moves on Jackie.
At Red's last day at the plant before it closes, he decides to drown his unemployment sorrows at the bar with one of his co-workers so Kitty sends Eric to pick him up but Hyde and Fez find him instead. Kelso gets a new van which causes Laurie to develop a crush.
Red starts his search for a new job now that he is unemployed. The gang decide to head to a dance club where some of them have trouble getting past the bouncer. Jackie gives Kelso a makeover.
One of Laurie's professors arrives at the Forman's house to convince Laurie to return to college. His approach is a little 'hands on' though, much to the shock of Eric. Meanwhile, Donna is at the center of her parents' marital problems where they compete for her affections during a shopping trip.
The gang heads back to their elementary school for a Halloween outing. They uncover their permanent records and trouble ensues when different truths comes out. Fez has his first experience with Trick or Treating.
The gang, minus Jackie, all plan to go to Vanstock, Wisconsin's version of Woodstock. Kelso invites Laurie but at the last minute Jackie decides to come, leaving him in a difficult position. Meanwhile, Donna is angry at Eric for not telling her about Kelso and Laurie even though Fez is the one who ends up talking to Jackie and Laurie all night. Back at the house, Red becomes addicted to soap operas.
The gang plans to go to Van Stock; unemployment takes its toll on Red.
Donna tells Eric that she loves him but he responds with a statement about his affections towards cake. Donna's confusion extends to her parents when Midge throws Bob out of the house after a disagreement, so he stays with the Formans. Red is forced to act as a mediator between the two of them. Kelso buys a leather jacket but it makes him look like the Fonz, not Marlon Brando.
Eric and Donna spend the night together but nothing happens besides sharing the bed. Hyde decides to help out financially because of Red's unemployment so he gets a job at the photoshop. He discovers that his boss is even more chill and less productive than he is. Meanwhile, Red has to cook the meals as Kitty is pulling double shifts at the hospital.
Eric is ecstatic when Donna spends the night.
Donna acts out over her parents' separation by smoking, but Eric is the one who gets caught holding her cigarette and ends up suspended. Fez and Hyde go on a double date and Jackie is upset with Kelso for not letting her decorate his van with stuffed animals.
Red doesn't have the best of birthdays when the roof collapses and he has to fix it. His birthday dinner is then ruined when Midge and Bob each bring a date and proceed to make out in their respective cars. Donna confides in Hyde about her parents' problems which angers Eric.
Laurie moves out of the house and Red is furious when he finds out that it is with a guy, not the girlfriend she told him about. His anger doubles when he finds out the man is married and Laurie has to move home when he decides to return to his wife. Jackie suspects that Kelso might be cheating.
Eric wants to buy something special for Donna on their dating anniversary but his secret stash of money is missing. He blames Hyde but is surprised when the culprit is revealed. Fez and Kelso help coach Jackie for a beauty contest.
The guys and Red and Bob go deer hunting. Fez proves to be a stellar hunter and Red and Eric have a bonding moment. The women have a girls night but with nothing to talk about, they end up playing poker.
Red is up for a managerial position at the new Price Mart but much to his annoyance, Eric gets a job there first as a cashier. Kelso tries to break up with Laurie but she threatens to tell Jackie about them.
Red and Eric compete for a job at a new store.
Jackie plans a classy dinner party as her parents are out of town, but Kelso turns it into a fun party and invites everyone he knows. Hyde hooks up with the snobbiest girl at school but no one will believe him as she ignores him in public. Red discovers that not all of Bob's hair is his own.
Midge and Bob get back together and decide to renew their vows. They ask Donna to help them with their vows but she doesn't know what to write but it does help her come to a decision about her relationship with Eric.
Donna decides to take her physical relationship with Eric to the next level but it doesn't turn out well. Donna confides in others about Eric's akwardness and Eric finds out, prompting him to say that they shouldn't sleep together again but they end up resolving the matter. Meanwhile, Red receives his first paycheck from his new job and makes an outrageous purchase.
Red tells Eric to go to a movie with Kitty so they can spend quality time together. Hyde is confused when a girl he dated decides to go out with Fez. Jackie also becomes quietly jealous about Fez dating someone.
Eric and Donna are caught having sex by the police and have to come clean to the Formans. Kitty has a nervous breakdown when she hears the truth. Kelso's radio becomes popular with the rest of the guys who try to pick up women with it.
Eric runs over Donna's cat, Mr. Bonkers but neglects to tell her. Kelso decides to break up with Laurie but gets caught giving her one last kiss by Jackie. Meanwhile, Fez eats so much junk food that he has to go to the hospital.
Kelso becomes depressed over his break-up with Jackie so he decides to write her a song. It doesn't work and Jackie turns to Hyde for comfort- to everyone's surprise. Donna begins to feel that Eric is taking her for granted.
Fez takes Jackie out to a fancy restaurant but it doesn't go as planned. Eric and Laurie try to out insult each other and secrets get revealed. Red is furious at Kitty for selling a necklace that his mother gave her.
A depressed Jackie finds comfort in food and in Fez; Eric tells the guys a secret about Laurie.
Kitty has to end up working on Sunday and leaves it up to the kids as to whether they go to church, which they don't, so Kitty brings the church to them by inviting Pastor Dave to the house. Kelso and Fez both grow beards and Jackie develops her feelings for Kelso again.
Eric, Laurie and Red skip out of church when Kitty has to work on Sunday.
Red turns his regular anger at Eric towards his employee Earl, who is always late for his shift. Eric relishes his reprise until Red fires Earl and he questions his father's decision. Kelso starts dating Laurie again, which the gang isn't too happy about.
Hyde gives Jackie lessons on being Zen cool in the face of Laurie's constant insults. Kelso learns that he should be fearful if Red finds out he is dating Laurie.
Eric becomes jealous when he learns that there is a picture of Donna mooning in the yearbook. Fez is also angry over the yearbook pictures, or rather the lack of yearbook pictures of him. Jackie wants to spend time with Hyde.
