OSCARS ROCK!
February 23, 2008
Well, I don't see why anyone would complain about the Oscars, I think they are so much fun! They are the highlight of the worst month of the year for me, and I don't know why, but its cool to see all the actors and actresses and all the little trailers. Not to mention they can be very funny too.

The Academy Awards
February 18, 2008
From the bad reviews and whatnot that the Academy Awards receives from those people who give the event that, well, it just seems like they're sitting in their bad mood and taking it out on the Oscars. Jesus Christ, people! Calm down. First of all, those of you who talk trash of the Oscars need to hold it in. It's not all bad as you guys make it out to be.
The Academy Awards event is entertaining and can be hilarious especially if they hype is done right when it comes to who gets to hosts the Awards show. I must admit that it wasn't super hilarious when Ellen DeGeneres hosted it before. It was her first time, I believe, so I cut her some slack. And if you're just a person with no sense of humor at all, then it sucks for you.
In my opinion, the Academy Awards doesn't necessary tell us what to feel, think, choose etc.. on any of the movies. That may seem more so on critic shows like Ebert and Roeper , but are they literally trying to influence you on a grand scale? Nah, don't think so.
With that said and done, I love events like the Academy Awards show. It's not all pointless and stupid like some other reviewer said in their review or boring , which is pretty much all that another review said. The Awards is not necessarily perfect in the sense that those who perhaps truly deserved may have not received the award themselves, but in the end, it's all good. They'll always be awards shows to come. And God bless them.

I still enjoy the Oscars
February 18, 2008
What's funny is offering a review before the show. With that said, I have always enjoyed the Oscars. I don't get to all the movies I'd like to and seeing some of them here helps me find ones I may have missed or should avoid. I enjoy the shows more when hosted by Billy Crystal but you can't have everything. I'll watch.

Superbowl for women
February 24, 2008
Who cares who wins what award? It's all political. It's like watching the Superbowl for the commercials and the halftime show. Women watch the Oscars to see what everyone is wearing. This is our Superbowl.

What's the point?
February 18, 2008
I like movies, but I don't care what the critics think. Why would I care what the Academy thinks? But mostly, what's the point? A friend who doesn't like sports tried to equate it to the Super Bowl. Problem is, after the game, I turn it off. I don't stick around to watch the awards presentation. I don't even watch ESPN's award show. This is all pointless and stupid. Watch the movie or event. If you like it, give it your own gold star. If not, move on.
