So it turns out that there are a lot more ways than you"d think to fly from Ouagadougou to Vilnius, Lithuania, and it"s not easy to get the right one. Nick and Don get a bum steer from a travel agent, Azaria chalks bad luck up to bad karma resulting from not giving away information to other teams, and Ron and Christina mistake the worst flight for the best flight and have some time to make up. But it turns out that much of this leg is luck-based, particularly when it turns out to be all about a Roadblock in which the teams are all tasked with finding different landmarks, some of which are obviously much more prominent than others. Nick and Don fall from first to last place, while others surge. It looks for a moment like this is the end for our friendly grandpa and grandson, but it"s critical to never underestimate the pure sucking power of Shana and Jennifer, whose apparently weak ability to concentrate leads them to bungle a simple counting Detour. When Nick finds an efficient way to finesse past an error, he and Don manage to land on the mat ahead of Shana and Jennifer. The show fairly explicitly threatens not to eliminate them, but then it does anyway. In other news, Nate and Jen reach new heights of lows, griping at each other until they"re essentially swearing to never, ever again make a mistake matching in magnitude the decision to date each other. They"re the kind of couple that ought to separate immediately and forever, but they"re probably not going to. But with Shana and Jennifer gone, they"re really the only purely hateful people left, so -- fingers crossed! Maybe we can get a good ending for a change.
