The White Elephant

This episode is no turkey, as we continue where yesterday's great episode left off: Ryan still wants to take out Volchok, but when he's finally given the chance to do so after Volchok returns to Newport and turns himself in -- with Sandy as his public defender! -- he decides to have a chat with the guy instead. Okay, he punches Volchok in the face first, but nobody's perfect. Volchok gets all vulnerable and three-dimensional and Ryan tells him that it's over. Then Volchok goes off to jail and we'll probably never see him again. Sigh.
Ryan and Sandy return to the Cohen residence, where Kirsten, Seth, Kaitlin, Taylor Townsend, and assorted homeless people Summer invited to the Cohen's Thanksgiving without asking if it was okay are all getting ready to enjoy dinner. Not enjoying Thanksgiving dinner are Julie and Summer, who share a touching mourning-Marissa moment before Summer cuts out of town again. So does Dr. Neil, who has accepted a job in Seattle because no one wanted to pay Michael Nouri anymore, I guess. Julie heads over to the Cohens and apologizes to Sandy, earning her a spot at the dinner table. She'd rather hang out with Ryan in the poolhouse and talk about Marissa, though.
