    Just crap

    February 22, 2008
what a bunch of off kilter mamby pamby one sided politics, and the show does not even dare to show the reality of what the opposing politics have to offer. This one is pure one sided programming from the left, presented in such a way to lull you to sleep. Rarely do the actors present any sense of drama, such as I expect people in real life would in those crisis situations. Pencil me in as this one was a P. U.

    Best Ever

    February 5, 2007
The West Wing was the best medicine in the world for me. The parallel to a real life story gave me people I could relate to, people who became friends; It got me through each day, of five months of chemotherapy and 32 radiation seessions for breast cancer. Thank you, all, writers, cast, crew, and everyone connected to that show! You saved my life. I'll never forget you.

    One of the best shows

    April 1, 2008
This is one of my favorite shows ever, seen almost every episode at least twice, except for the live speech debate. Own both individual seasons and the complete dvd series collection. Dialogue is intelligent and witty. Characters are intriguing and it made me give an interest in politcs. 5 Stars.

    Sadly, Missed

    February 24, 2008
This was one of the most intelligent shows on television. The scrip was fast and never talked down to the viewer. It made me hope the White House was functioning as depicted. The characters were mature and the kind of people I would like to get to know.

The best TV has offered, but all don't want best.

    February 23, 2008
The West Wing challenged the viewer to be a whole, integrated person--to think intelligently, to examine values underlying decisions, to embrace the humor and tragedy in life, and to acknowledge the depth, complexity, and frailty of relationships. It was and remains the best series that television has ever offered. Every week, I felt like I was getting a televised gift, and I walked away a richer person, even if the episode didn't "thrill" me. There was always something for me to take away from the show that led me to thinking and/or feeling more deeply, or laughing more freely. It was great entertainment, but a terrific learning opportunity, too. I know many others shared this perspective on The West Wing, but not all. Viewers who watched simply for entertainment purposes missed out on the richness of the show--but many people didn't want richness, depth, or challenge, they just wanted visual fluff. And that's how we've gotten to the awful state of reality TV in which we're mired today.
