One of the more controversial television personalities of the 1990s, this thick-set and amazingly nervous comic actor, comedian and producer began his career as a stand-up comic in his native Iowa. Arnold met fellow comic Roseanne Barr in 1983 and moved to Los Angeles in 1989 to become a writer on her celebrated sitcom, "Roseanne” (ABC, 1988-1997).
