Hey, look, this guy, along with Colbert has helped save our democracy. No lie. You cannot underestimate the value of hip, sharp humor in exposing the sad truth that the emperor has no clothes. We ought to give these two the Pulitzer Prize for Peace, fo shur.

C'mon, we all enjoy poking a bit of fun at the goofy contestant who's been told all his life (by his mother usually) that he sings like an angel but sounds more like scraping a shovel over concrete. BUT...I got very uncomfortable during these last two opening shows. It was one strange, sad, pitiful character after another. If you're like me, you couldn't laugh. I groaned a lot, winced a lot and shook my head a lot and kept waiting for redemption in the form of a really GOOD singer. There were a few hopefuls, but nothing amazing so far. The producers really think this is the kind of cruelty the American public wants. A little restraint and good judgement is in order, would ya not say?
