Barney was da'Bomb!
5 stars
This show was so different than anything else on tv at the time. The plots were always filled with twists and turns that were cleverly written and well acted. Ginger was HOT! And, Barney was the first positive black male role model I can remember. He made turning a screwdriver look cool!

First Hippie show!
5 stars
1965 was the beginning of the Hippie movement in San Francisco. The Monkee's reflected all that was fun in the Haight at that time. Plus, it was a communal experience to watch.

Great Memories
4 stars
Leslie Nelson was terrific as the Swamp Fox. He had just done Forbidden Planet and was considered a viable leading man in Hollywood. Even though he's a legendary prankster, he's a very good actor and has had a great career. This was a show that captured my imagination and I remember my friends and I all wanted to the the Swamp Fox!

Too Hip!
5 stars
This was a satirical news show which reviewed current events. The first time I saw George Carlin doing his Hippie Dippie Weatherman was on this show. It was far ahead of its' time and brilliantly written!

Too bad, intelligent star vs. stupid network!
5 stars
Judy Garland was a HUGE talent! If she had been able to do the show the way she wanted, how much better would television be today? She was able to introduce new talent on a national basis: The first time I ever heard of Barbara Strisand (sp?) was on her show. She needed to be allowed to produce her own show, and it would have been so much more than just another variety show, which became just like every other show on tv.
