I admit that I was skeptical when I first saw the previews for this show, because I didn't know what to expect. But I was also excited that a new vampire show was coming out. I missed not having a daily dose of vampires every week.
I'm a big fan of vampire shows and followed Buffy, Angel, Forever Knight and even Kindred religiously. I liked the different flavors they all offered, which kept me watching. And I was disappointed that the shows were ending.
I had heard various rumors that this just another 'Angel' series, but since I'm one to make up my own mind on what I like, I watched it. So far, I'm enjoying the show. I like that it doesn't stick to the classical views of vampires, like turning into bats or not being able to look at crosses. (That's one of the reasons why I LOVE Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles)
I like the chemistry between the characters and even though I knew some things would happen, it still has me wanting more. I really can't wait to see what happens next. Regardless how long this show runs, it will be a vampire show that I will watch religiously.
