'Homeland' Season 3 Trailer: Where Is Brody and Why Does He Look Like That? [Video]

Season 3 is still more than six weeks away, and the newly-released (and very intense) trailer for Showtime's Emmy-winning "Homeland" is going to make that wait seem even longer.

With very little dialogue, but a booming soundtrack of The Cinematic Orchestra's oft-used "To Build a Home," the official trailer gives us a peek into what Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and Nicolas Brody (Damian Lewis) and company have been up to since we saw them in the Season 2 finale last December.

Brody, as we might have guessed after last season's terrorist attack, is on the run, and has changed his appearance… dramatically. He's just one pork pie hat short of looking quite Heisenberg-ian. We don't know where Brody is in the clip, but he's looking over his shoulder.

Meanwhile, in Brody's absence, Carrie appears to suffer another breakdown, she and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) testify in the hearings on the attack, Carrie is seen in some sort of kerfuffle with fellow CIA-er Quinn (Rupert Friend), and, at the end of the trailer, a distraught Saul apologizes to an equally upset Carrie.

Brody's family also continues to deal with the fallout of everything he's done (and hasn't done), especially daughter Dana (Morgan Saylor), who takes some racy selfies, gets swarmed by the media, and prays on a prayer rug.

"Homeland," which won last year's Outstanding Drama Series Emmy and is nominated again this year, is introducing a line-up of new guest stars for Season 3, including Martin Donovan ("Boss") as Washington, D.C. attorney Bennett; Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts as powerful senator Andrew Lockhart; Joanna Merlin ("Law & Order: SVU") as Brody's mother-in-law; and Sam Underwood, who's currently playing a pivotal role on the final season of "Dexter," as Dana's new friend Leo.

Season 3 of "Homeland" premieres Sunday, 9/29 at 9 PM on Showtime.
