Those big books about "Saturday Night Live" history and your TV Guide will tell you that Anna Faris hosted "SNL" last night -- and they would be right. Faris (as it always seems to go with the star of the "Scary Movie" series) was funny and charming and underrated, even when working with some medium-rate material. But she wasn't the star last night. Nobody shined like musical guest Drake.

The crowd was hot for the very mention of his name last night. The Canadian rapper delivered -- and maybe even fueled some buzz of an alleged secret relationship with superstar Nicki Minaj. Drake and Minaj busted out a show-stopper last night with a performance of "Make Me Proud" last night. But the show-stopping part was the kiss at the end, preceded by Drake's quick bouquet of off-script compliments. "You look amazing. I swear you do," he said before kissing Minaj on the cheek.

It all makes sense with a little bit of history. See, Drake's been publicly trying to make this happen for years. On one of his first singles alongside Lil Wayne, the former "Degrassi" star dropped this in one of his verses: "I love Nicki Minaj, I told her I'd admit it/ I hope one day we get married just to say we (bleep) did it. And girl, I'm serious/ I'm with it if you with it."

Looks like she's serious.

And why not? Dude is a catch, especially if you ask anybody hanging around 30 Rockefeller Center last night. They saw him deliver the best SNL Digital Short of the season to date. Andy Samberg's camera gets closer to Drake's face in this sketch than even Nicki Minaj did on stage.

All of it outshined Faris' otherwise stellar, absolutely capable performance last night. She was the star of the night's best sketch, too -- a game show that completely guts Lifetime movies. It's a skit that will have you cackling if you ever stumbled by one of these things on cable on a rainy day.

But Faris is going to remain criminally underrated after tonight, still. On her third hosting try, maybe she'll have another Canadian rapper to make out with on standby.
