Warning: "Dexter" story line and character spoilers ahead.
Eight seasons, 95 episodes, and a lot of henley kill shirts all come down to this: Sunday's "Dexter" series finale, when we find out whether blood spatter expert/serial killer Dexter Morgan survives his latest serial killer foe, the Brain Surgeon, and heads off for a happy new life with girlfriend (and fellow serial killer) Hannah.
As teased in the countdown clip above, the first 95 installments found Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Michael C. Hall's Dexter battling some serious serial-killer competition, including the Trinity Killer (guest star John Lithgow), Dexter's own brother/the Ice Truck Killer (Christian Camargo), and Colin Hanks's Travis Marshall (aka the Doomsday Killer).

It was taking out Doomsday, in fact, that led to one of the series' most pivotal moments: Dex's sister Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) catching her brother in the act, and then learning about his "Dark Passenger."

The blasts-from-the-past video also includes scenes from Dexter's wedding to (murdered) wife Rita (Julie Benz), clips of him as the newly widowed dad of infant Harrison, and the beginning of his relationship with girlfriend Hannah (Yvonne Strahovski), the wanted woman who has convinced him to leave Miami (and maybe even his serial killer instincts) behind to run off to Argentina and start a new life with her.
About that new life, though ... in last week's penultimate ep of the series, Dex passed on a chance to kill psychopath Oliver Saxon/the Brain Surgeon, and it led to Deb getting seriously wounded.

No spoilers here, but suffice it to say that when Dexter finds out what happened to his sister, it leads to serious consequences and major revelations for those around him, and fans might want to anticipate an ending that's not altogether happy.
The "Dexter" series finale airs Sunday, Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
