'South Park' -- 'A Nightmare on Facetime'

You won't see a new episode of "South Park" tonight, and you can blame Canada the electric company.

A power outage at South Park Studios last night halted production of tonight's episode, "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers," so it'll be pushed back to next Wednesday. A live-tweet version of the classic Season 5 episode "Scott Tenorman Must Die" will air tonight in its place.

Per the official Comedy Central press release:

On Tuesday night, South Park Studios lost power. From animation to rendering to editing and sound, all of their computers were down for hours and they were unable to finish episode 1704 “Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers” in time for air tonight.

Trey Parker said, “It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen.”

Parker is referring to "South Park's" unique production schedule, which holds episodes until just hours before they air to allow the "South Park" writers to tackle late-breaking current events. Which is great… as long as the lights stay on.

Need photographic proof? Comedy Central also provided some night-vision pics of co-creators Parker and Matt Stone and the rest of the "South Park" staff enduring last night's blackout:
