After what feels like ages of speculation, Elisabeth Hasselbeck is officially on the move — to a new network, that is. The spunky (and politically conservative) blonde is leaving ABC's "The View" to join Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends."

Hasselbeck is slated to take her seat on the curvy couch alongside Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade in mid-September, essentially replacing Gretchen Carlson.

But don't fret. Carlson landed her very own gig as the anchor of a one-hour signature daytime program, which will kick off around the same time as Hasselbeck's new post. In other words, everybody's happy — especially Hasselbeck.

"I have been a long-time fan of 'Fox & Friends' and am excited to be joining their team in September as it is an honor to call the Fox News Channel my new television home," she stated.

And Fox is thrilled to have her.

"Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on 'The View,'" Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes noted. "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."

This certainly seems like a better fit for the famously opinionated host, who frequently butted heads with her colleagues during her near-decade-long run at "The View." Still, it sounds like the ladies have put any lingering differences aside.

"We have had ten wonderful years with Elisabeth and she will now be swimming in new waters. We will miss her and wish her everything good," Barbara Walters (who is also leaving the show after this season) explained. We'll likely find out how the rest of them feel on Wednesday's show when Hasselbeck is expected to address it on the air.

The announcement comes after a lot of back-and-forth about both her departure and future plans, and while we'll never know what went down for sure, something tells us her bags are already packed.
