'The Originals' Sneak Peek: Marcel Catches Rebekah's Hand in the Cookie Jar [Video]

Each week on "The Originals," constantly shifting alliances of vampires, werewolves, witches, and humans battle for power and survival. As each side carries out their own master plan, things can get twisted and bloody. In this sneak peek of upcoming episode "Fruit of the Poisoned Tree," Rebekah (Claire Holt) gets momentarily distracted from what appears to be another urgent, possibly life-saving quest.

Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) saunters into an herbalist's shop just as Rebekah is scrambling to find something amongst the array of tiny bottles. When he asks what she's up to, she makes a snarky comment about how certain herbs can repel a vampire, and "ward off even the most resilient pests." Marcel complains that "every time I turn around, I catch an Original with their hand in the cookie jar."

Rebekah bites back that she has no use for his "cookies." These two have history, and for a vampire that can mean hundreds of years — with time off for the occasional staking from your older brother. Marcel reminds her she once felt something for him. "Maybe once," Rebekah admits softly. "But not anymore."

The moment is shattered when Rebekah finds the bottle of camphor she's looking for, and brushes past Marcel for the exit. The herb has both healing and poisonous potential, so we can't be sure if her mission is saintly or deadly. Oh and ... camphor also repels pests.

"The Originals" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
