What Emmy Nominees Aaron Paul, Uzo Aduba, and Tony Hale Were Doing When They Got the Big News
For this year's Emmy nominees, today was a very good day. It was also, for some, just another day on the job.
Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul, a two-time Emmy winner, told Yahoo Live that he was "dead asleep" in Georgia, where he's filming the movie Triple Nine.
"It was such an incredible phone call to wake up to," he said. "What a wonderful way to say goodbye to the show."

The acclaimed AMC series aired its final episodes last fall. But while fans had to say goodbye to Breaking Bad, they may not have to say goodbye to Paul's character, Jesse Pinkman. As the actor coyly teased, he may show up in the spinoff series, Better Call Saul.
"There's definitely a possibility and I'd love that to actually happen," he said of a Jesse sighting.
Meanwhile, Orange Is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba, who was nominated as Best Guest Actress in a Drama, was "stuck in traffic" on the way to the show's set when she heard the news.
"I just kept saying, 'Are you kidding me?!'" the astonished Aduba said.
She wasn't so thrown off, though, to reveal any spoilers. "Do you want me sent to the SHU?" Aduba laughed when we asked her for scoop. "Because that's where I will go if I give you anything about Season 3."
Fargo creator Noah Hawley was similarly tight-lipped about what's next on his show, which was nominated for Best Miniseries.
"I think it'll be Fargo: Tuscany — that's my hope," he laughed.
While he wouldn't reveal anything about Season 2, Hawley was grateful for the awards recognition.
"It's already been a more successful experience than I could've imagined. I don't know what goes beyond gravy or frosting, but that's what I've got now."
Like Paul, Veep star Tony Hale (a nominee for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy) was down south, vacationing in Alabama with friends and family. So, what will his celebration look like?
"There's grits involved. There's fried food," he joked. "It's a whole different kind of celebration."
Today, Hale got an Emmy nomination. Yesterday, he conversed with Val Kilmer (apparently a big fan of his) on Twitter. "It's been two surreal days," Hale laughed.
While Hale's celebration sounds decidedly low-key, Shark Tank advisor Robert Herjavec is going big — "spending a lot of money on something. That's what we do."
