It's "Naked City," the police drama filmed on location in New York City, and inspired by the 1948 Oscar-winning movie of the same name. The series aired on ABC from 1958 through 1963, and we've learned exclusively that all 138 episodes — 29 discs — will be released on November 5 in Image Entertainment's "Naked City: The Complete Series Box Set."

"Naked City" revolved around the work of the NYPD detectives at the city's 65th precinct, but the show's anthology-ish format and great writing drew a lineup of top guest stars who played both victims and criminals.

Roberts Redford and Duvall, Gene Hackman, Christopher Walken, Dustin Hoffman, James Caan, William Shatner, Rip Torn, Telly Savalas, future "All in the Family" co-stars Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton, Peter Fonda, Bruce Dern, Dennis Hopper, Suzanne Pleshette, Jon Voight, Jack Klugman, Peter Falk, Cicely Tyson, Ed Asner, Alan Alda, and Martin Sheen were among the future stars who appeared on "Naked City."

Established stars like George C. Scott, Claude Rains, Burgess Meredith, Mickey Rooney, Keenan Wynn, famed acting teacher Sanford Meisner, and Lawrence Tierney — whom "Seinfeld" fans will remember as the actor who played Elaine's intimidating dad, Alton Benes — also made guest appearances on the show.
