SPOILER ALERT: This recap reveals the elimination results of Week 3 of "Dancing With the Stars."
On Monday's "Dancing With the Stars," a walk down memory lane turned into a walk out of the ballroom for one couple. As Season 18's remaining couples performed their Most Memorable Year routines, actor Billy Dee Williams was forced to withdraw from the competition on doctor's orders.
The 76-year-old TV and film legend received a standing ovation from the audience after he revealed he was unable to perform his waltz with pro partner Emma Slater, citing chronic back problems for his withdrawal from the show. Williams, who was greeted on the dance floor by his grandchildren, called his experience on the celebrity ballroom competition "pure joy," and signed off by telling the audience, "I want to thank every one of you who've been supporting us!"
Williams is the third celebrity to leave the competition, on the heels of last week's ousted stars Diana Nyad and Sean Avery.

Check out the highlights from the fan favorite Memorable Year theme:
First, the tearjerkers as Meryl Davis stole the show with pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The couple earned the first 10s of the season following a gorgeous foxtrot that followed the Olympic gold medalist's 17-year journey as an ice dancer. Bruno Tonioli called the dance technically "incredible" and praised Chmerkovskiy's world class choreography. The pro dancer noted that this routine was the first time Carrie Ann Inaba cried during one of his dances. Score: 39 points. (Only Len Goodman held back on a 10.)
There wasn't a dry eye in the country following Amy Purdy's look back at the year 1999. The Paralympian snowboarder debuted a new pair of feet for her emotional contemporary dance with Derek Hough. Purdy thanked her father, who gave her the gift of life twice after giving her one of his kidneys after her near-fatal bout with bacterial meningitis. The dance even touched grumpy Goodman's heart, and all of the judges pulled out their "9" paddles.
Danica McKellar moved Inaba to tears with her touching tribute to her son and her grandmother who never got to meet him. Tonioli described the star's contemporary with Val Chmerkovskiy as "enchanting" and "spellbinding." Score: An impressive 26 out of 40 points.
Drew Carey also dedicated his waltz with Cheryl Burke to his child. After guest judge Robin Roberts praised "The Price Is Right" host as "a beautiful dancer and a beautiful soul," Carey's son, Connor, put the moves on Burke by asking her to teach him some dance moves. This from a kid who was born in 2005!
Hard to believe James Maslow was teased in high school, but the Big Time Rush hunk paid tribute to the year 2007 and said it was the year he overcame being bullied. His jive with pro partner Peta Murgatroyd had the judges cheering him on: "Your best dance, no question!" Goodman proclaimed.
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes proclaimed her love for husband Greg with the year 2013 — the year she married him for the second time — while Aussie pop star Cody Simpson danced to his own tune, "Surfboard," which he dedicated to his family. Simpson seemed stunned with his judges' score of 35 points.

And Charlie White was downright "Happy," complete with a Pharrell-style oversize hat. The Olympian's happy-go-lucky jive with Sharna Burgess had Goodman giving a shout-out to happy hour, and the judges all concurred with a series of nines.
The night also included a mini "Full House" reunion (Kimmy Gibbler was in the house!) that had Candace Cameron Bure remembering her 1990s sitcom via an Elvis song and a jive with Mark Ballas. Tonioli compared the actress to Ann-Margaret in "Viva Las Vegas."
Monday's show also featured an update on "The Switch-Up," the twist that will have all of the couples switching partners for one week. The new star-pro combos will make their debut in the ballroom next Monday, April 7.
