'Dancing With the Stars' Week 5 Results: Who Went Home After Len's Side-by-Side Challenge?

SPOILER ALERT: This recap reveals the elimination results of Week 5 of "Dancing With the Stars."

Week 5 of "Dancing With the Stars" marked the return of popular pro dancers from the past. But for one celeb couple, the challenge of dancing alongside the pros in Len Goodman's Side-by-Side Challenge proved to be a bit too much of a challenge.

Unfortunately for D.L. Hughley and his partner, Cheryl Burke, it was the last dance of the season. D.L. and Cheryl were the fourth couple to be eliminated this season, after landing in the bottom two alongside boxer Victor Ortiz and newcomer Lindsay Arnold.

When asked what he'd miss most about the show, the comedian quipped, "Just Cheryl." He also had some advice for head judge Len: "You need to work on your hip action," he said.

D.L.'s elimination came after an emotional night on the dance floor following Monday's bombings at the Boston Marathon. According to Extra, several of the show's cast members were personally affected by the horrific events, including host Tom Bergeron, whose wife and daughter were both in Boston at the time the bomb blasts went off.

"It was the hardest show I have ever done," the "Dancing With the Stars" host said of getting through the Week 5 performance show. "I worked in Boston for years, I know how valuable that marathon is, that last mile was dedicated to the families of Newtown," he said. "I'm feeling a mixture of grief, relief that my family's fine."

Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, who is also from Boston, said it was her stint on "Dancing With the Stars" that prevented her from attending the race: "I would've been the grand marshal at the Boston Marathon today ... it's definitely scary to think about," she said.

Although the stars struggled with this week's performance show, the judges seemed generally pleased by Monday night's dances, although comedians D.L. and Andy Dick scored only 18 points and faced harsh critiques from Len, the mastermind behind this week's challenging theme.

Len told D.L. that his dance with Cheryl and pro couple Sasha Farber and Chelsie Hightower "lacked that attack that you want to see in a tango."

"It was like a decaf coffee," the head judge said. "It didn't have any buzz to it."

Carrie Ann Inaba told the comedian that the side-by-side piece highlighted the vast difference between him and Sasha: "Your lack of technique was very evident," she said, while Bruno Tonioli called him a "romper stomper."

During an appearance on Monday's "Ellen DeGeneres Show," D.L. talked about why he had no plans to ever quit the dancing competition, despite a rocky start and frequent head-butting with Len: "The thing that makes me have to do it is I think that people get the sense that the judges are being a little harsher, and I think they see me as the underdog," he said. "I've never seen myself that way, but it is an interesting position. It is that people have invested. It's the dude that votes for me from prison. So he is risking his commissary so I can get a gold ball. So I got to work hard … I'd never quit. What's important to me is that I don't quit and people see that, regardless of how physically painful it is and out of my league. I would never give someone that kind of victory over me."

According to The Clicker, D.L. left his fate in his fans' hands, and put a positive spin on the possibility that he might be eliminated from the competition: "If my fans want me to stay, then I'll stay," he said. "If they don't, then I'll be off. But you know what's cool? If I get kicked off before I do the waltz, then I'll have to take my wife ballroom dancing so I can do the waltz there."

It looks like Mrs. Hughley is the winner now!
