'Deadliest Catch' sneak peek: The Wizard gets frozen stiff [Exclusive Video]

The crews of Discovery's crab-wrangling reality hit "Deadliest Catch" have been battling massive sheets of ice all season long, so they're probably happy to wrap things up on tonight's season finale and head home to get warm. But before they can do that, the Wizard makes one final push to scoop up a few more crabs -- and we've got an exclusive sneak peek at that treacherous trip right here.

In the clip, Wizard relief captain Monte Colburn has been handed the wheel by his brother, Captain Keith, and he's trying to maneuver the hulking ship through a dangerous minefield of ice. As huge chunks of ice bob in the frigid water, Monte fires up the engines -- but the ship doesn't budge. "We're pushing like 900 RPM right now, and we're going absolutely nowhere," he says.

In fact, powerful waves push the Wizard back towards the shore... and towards a deadly rock formation. A panicked Monte races down to the engine room to see what the problem is, only to discover that the engines have overheated. While the crew rushes to hose down the engines and get them running again, the powerless boat inches closer and closer to destruction.

So why even risk it? Even though the Wizard enjoyed a successful season, they still didn't meet their crab quota, and Captain Keith felt sure his repurposed World War II Navy vessel could brave the elements. But will his ship survive this latest test? We'll have to tune in tonight to find out.

The 2-hour season finale of "Deadliest Catch" airs tonight at 8 PM on Discovery.
