'The Amazing Race' Season 20: Who's Who & Who'll Win
New season and new people -- well, aside from "Big Brother" alums Brendon and Rachel, who have reared their collective ugly head on yet another CBS show. Still, there are some other big personalities who might stand a better shot at winning in the 20th season of "The Amazing Race."
Dave and Rachel
Stats: He's a 33-year-old Army officer, and she's a 30-year-old project manager. They are from Madison, Wisconsin.
The Gimmick: They are a married couple adjusting to his being back home after a year of deployment.
First Impression: Our favorites from the second she gamely jumped out of the plane. They seem adventurous and fun loving, and they haven't made any stupid mistakes yet.
Odds of Winning: 3 to 1. In the premiere, they landed in first place and scored the express pass. And she seems just as tough as he is.
Mark and Bopper
Stats: Mark's a 45-year-old former state inspector, and Bopper's a 41-year-old motorcycle mechanic. They are from Manchester, Kentucky.
The Gimmick: They are best friends who grew up on the "other side of the tracks."
First Impression: Mark spent most of the premiere episode puking his guts out from running too much, being in a moving vehicle, and jumping out of a plane. If one day of exertion can take him down, maybe he should have gone on "The Biggest Loser" instead. And a grown man who goes by the name of "Bopper"? Really?
Odds of Winning: 75 to 1. They should consider it a bonus if Mark doesn't have to be rushed to a hospital at some point.
Nary and Jamie
Stats: Nary's 32 years old and Jamie's 33. They both live in Los Angeles.
The Gimmick: They are close friends and federal agents.
First Impression: A quiet and solid force to be reckoned with. They didn't say much, but they performed well and landed at the top of the pack.
Odds of Winning: 8 to 1. This all-girl team definitely stands a chance.
Brendon and Rachel
Stats: He's a 31-year-old Ph.D student, and she's a 27-year-old event hostess. They both live in Westwood, California.
The Gimmick: They are an engaged couple and reality famewhores who met and "fell in love" on "Big Brother." Her second time playing, she won.
First Impression: It's more like the 15th impression, and we're sick of them on this show already, not least because she's using her "no one gets between me and my ___" catchphrase that wasn't even funny the first time. But at least she seems to have toned down her grating laugh.
Odds of Winning: 6 to 1. While former reality couples haven't fared well on this show, these two are ultra-competitive, and he seems to have an innate ability to deal with her crying tantrums, so there's hope for them yet.
Joey and Danny
Stats: Joey "Fitness" is a 29-year-old trainer and supplement company owner from Whitestone, New York. Danny's a 27-year-old nightclub promoter from Holbrook, New York.
The Gimmick: They are friends and self-proclaimed guidos.
First Impression: "Jersey Shore" meets "The Amazing Race." Danny talks about himself in the third person, and didn't think it was important to learn how to drive stick before going on this show. See, idiot. And Joey makes Phil call him Joey Fitness, which is only slightly less annoying than Bopper.
Odds of Winning: 35 to 1. Being strong is not going to get them across the finish line first.
Misa and Maiya
Stats: Misa's a 27-year-old car buyer, and Maiya is a 25-year old pro golfer. They are both from San Diego.
The Gimmick: They are sisters and they both enjoy golfing.
First Impression: They were the last team to find the first clue. Maiya got her car stuck in the sand and had to wait to be towed. They almost changed their luck, thanks to their love of wontons, but walked right past Phil and the pit stop.
Odds of Winning: None. They were the first to be Philiminated.
Dave and Cherie
Stats: They are both 44 years old and hail from New Port Richey, Florida.
The Gimmick: They are clowns but go by their preferred term, "ambassadors of laughter."
First Impression: They seem like very nice people, but they aren't exactly what you'd call speedy. And after just one episode, she was already panicked that they are in last place all the time.
Odds of Winning: 20 to 1. They are a long shot. At best.
Elliot and Andrew
Stats: Elliot's a musician who lives in Scottsdale, Arizona. Andrew's a professional major league soccer player who lives in Menlo Park, California. They are both 28 years old.
The Gimmick: They are twin brothers.
First Impression: We didn't learn much about them in the premiere. While they seem to have opposing interests, they aren't really engaging in any sibling squabbles.
Odds of Winning: 5 to 1. Maybe they have that secret twin-language thing to fall back on.
Kerri and Stacy
Stats: Kerri's a 30-year-old program coordinator, and Stacy is a 30-year-old self-employed "basketball" wife. They are from Gulfport, Mississippi.
The Gimmick: They are cousins.
First Impression: They are cute country girls, and their curvier assets don't go unnoticed by the other teams. Stacy is afraid of heights but manages to suck it up and jump out of an airplane for her kids.
Odds of Winning: 15 to 1. They get along well with each other and have some external motivation, but they'll have to push hard to get to the top.
Vanessa and Ralph
Stats: She's a 31-year-old freelance writer, he's a 36-year-old bar owner. They are both from San Antonio.
The Gimmick: They are a dating couple.
First Impression: They are… interesting. She tells a fun tale about how she stalked him for a decade and a half while he was married and while she was married. Now they are both divorced and hooking up.
Odds of Winning: 12 to 1. They are pretty forgettable, and these dating couples do have a tendency to self-destruct along the way. Maybe her stalking skills could come in handy somehow.
Art and J.J.
Stats: Art's a 43-year-old from Temecula, California. J.J.'s a 42-year-old from Carlsbad, California.
The Gimmick: They are friends who work together as border patrol agents.
First Impression: These guys are rugged, mean business, and could easily have won the first challenge if they had paid attention to the technical details of empanada-folding.
Odds of Winning: 4 to 1. These two are used to a tough job and conditions, so they should have no trouble with this game.
