2016 “Miss America” Competition Sets Air Date

The date for this year’s Miss America Competition has been set for Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, ABC, the Miss America Organization and Dick Clark Productions announced on Tuesday.

Produced by Tony Eaton and Tall Pony Productions, the pageant will broadcast live from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, where 52 women representing their home states and territories will compete to be crowned “Miss America.”

The competition is the culmination of a 13-day event that includes three nights of preliminary competitions and a week of events, including the “Show Us Your Shoes Parade” to be held on the Atlantic City Boardwalk Sept. 12.

After partnering last year, Dick Clark Productions and the Miss America Organization will collaborate on all creative, marketing, sponsorship, licensing, ticketing and distribution elements of this year’s show.

Tickets for the competition go on sale June 5.
