A 24 Spin-Off May Be in the Works -- But Where's Jack Bauer?

Say it ain't so! 24 without Jack Bauer?

Fox is developing a new 24 spin-off that would revolve around a new, twentysomething male terrorist hunter, franchise chief Howard Gordon told TVLine. While he wouldn't be the center of the new series and there are no current plans for Kiefer Sutherland's Bauer to appear, it's possible that the fan-favorite character could appear as a guest star.

Last year, Sutherland told UK newspaper The Telegraph that he has no desire to continue playing Jack Bauer. "Me, I don't see going back to it," he said.

The project would instead find the new antihero working alongside an older, more seasoned female agent (Not Kate Morgan, played by Yvonne Strahovski, TVLine reports, though she may also appear).

The show would also launch as a limited series, as last year's 24: Live Another Day did, but could possibly also become a long-term property for Fox if it's successful.

The one thing that won't change is the "real-time concept," a "tradition of 24 " as Gordon told Yahoo TV about last month.

Live Another Day's Manny Coto and Evan Katz will serve as writers and executive producers.

What do you think? Would you watch a Sutherland-less 24?
