ABC Family Renews ‘Baby Daddy’ for Season 5
ABC Family renewed its original comedy “Baby Daddy” for a fifth season on Friday.
The popular series centers around Ben (Jean-Luc Bilodeau), a man who finds himself at a loss when a one-night stand leaves a resultant baby on his doorstep. Co-stars include Melissa Peterman, Derek Theler, Tahj Mowry and Chelsea Kane.

“Baby Daddy” ranks as cable TV’s No. 1 Wednesday series at 8:30 p.m. for Adults 18-34, Women 18-34 and Females 12-34. It is also the No. 1 original cable TV telecast among Women 18-49 (616,000/1.0 rating).
The network recently wrapped production on Season 4, with a season finale set for Mar. 18. The series has seen a growing list of guest stars, including Reba McEntire, Aisha Dee, Kelly Monaco and, more recently, “Simpsons” voice Dan Castellaneta. It was created and is executive produced by Dan Berendsen.
ABC Family is known as the home of youth-skewing dramas like “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” the latter of which ended in 2013. But recently the ABC-owned cable network has expanded into other realms, including greenlighting a reality show “Job or No Job” and even ABC Family’s first procedural, “Stitchers.”

But the network’s Executive Vice President of Programming & Development Karey Burke said ABC Family also remains committed to comedy.
“Comedy is an important part of ABC Family’s make-up,” Burke said in a statement to TheWrap. “We’re excited to see where Dan (Berendsen) takes these lovable characters and look forward to more great comedy from the cast.”
