Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood Cast as Leads for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Spin-Off

ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off has found its leads, according to Deadline. Adrianne Palickiand Nick Blood have been tapped to lead the series, though no story details are available.

Palicki and Blood both joined S.H.I.E.L.D. in Season 2 as ex-husband-and-wife Barbara "Bobbi" Morse -- a.k.a. Mockingbird -- and mercenary Lance Hunter. Their Mr. and Mrs. Smith-esque dynamic that would surely play into the spin-off.

Events in the remainder of the super series are likely to lead into the spin-off's plot. Currently, Morse and Hunter are on some rather treacherous rocks after Morse deceived Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the team in order to steal Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) toolbox for "the real S.H.I.E.L.D." led by Edward James Olmos as Agent Robert Gonzales.

The spin-off series is being developed by S.H.I.E.L.D. exec producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski.
