Al Roker's stare will haunt your dreams [Video]

Here's something you may not have known: Al Roker has a stare that could give Clint Eastwood pause. The "Today" show personality showed off his disconcerting gaze last week while co-hosts Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie pretended to hug on camera. The clip only recently surfaced.

The only thing stranger than Lauer and Guthrie's faux-junior high embrace was Roker's reaction to Guthrie's comment about how, at Catholic junior high dances, boys and girls must be sure to leave room for the Holy Ghost. That's when Roker stared and stared and then stared some more at the camera while an unknowing Lauer and Guthrie went on with their chat.

We're not sure if Roker was purposefully being strange, but this isn't the first time the news host has caused a stir since Guthrie took over for Ann Curry. Following Curry's departure after just a year on the job as "Today" host, Roker caused an awkward moment on camera during the show's Olympics coverage. Perhaps not coincidentally, this occurred on the same day as The Stare.

Lauer was speaking to members of the U.S. rowing team, who joked that they have a tradition where they throw one of their teammates into the water. Lauer chimed in, saying, "The tradition here in New York is you throw her in the Hudson River." Enter Roker, who said, "Which is different than our tradition... which is you throw one of us under the bus, but that’s another story." A rep from NBC later said that Roker’s comment wasn’t in reference to Curry.

Either way, one has to wonder what Roker's gonna say (or stare at) next.
