Amanda Bynes in another car accident

Amanda Bynes should probably think about getting a driver. Or maybe a bus pass. The troubled actress who famously retired from a life on camera several years ago was involved in another accident on Monday, when her rental car (her own car is in the, ahem, repair shop) was rear-ended in Southern California.

According to TMZ, the other driver contends that Bynes made an erratic move, which caused the accident. Cops were on the scene but nobody was arrested, meaning Bynes was not under the influence of alcohol. It's worth noting because in the past several months, Bynes was arrested for a DUI (she pled not guilty and suggested that President Barack Obama fire the cop who arrested her), in addition to finding herself accused of three (count 'em, three!) hit and runs. Mr. Magoo ain't got nothing on her.

It seems that retirement may not be in the best interest of Bynes, who was enjoying a nice career prior to hanging up her acting shoes in 2010 after starring as the villain opposite Emma Stone in "Easy A." Bynes announced her retirement on Twitter (of course), writing, "I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I've #retired." Prior to that post, she tweeted, "If I don't love something anymore I stop doing it."

But Bynes may be one of those people who needs a little bit of structure, or as much structure as you can get in Hollywood. Over the past several years, her vehicular behavior and ill-advised appearence have raised red flags around Los Angeles, a town where it isn't always easy to get attention.

As a teen, Bynes boasted an impressive resume. She parlayed her success on TV's "All That" and "The Amanda Show" into starring movie roles. Though the movies ("Sydney White," "She's the Man," "What a Girl Wants") weren't epic entertainments, they weren't direct-to-video either. Here's hoping that should she decide to return to acting, Hollywood not only takes her back but gives her rides to the set as well.
