Amy Schumer Defends Bill Cosby Against Rape in New Courtroom Sketch (Video)

Never one to shy away from controversy, Amy Schumer debuted a new sketch Tuesday on her Comedy Central series in which she acts as the defense attorney for Bill Cosby in the Court of Public Opinion.

In the sketch, Cosby’s trial is concluding and Schumer is presenting her closing arguments. She begins by playing the theme song from “The Cosby Show” and then plays a clip from the long-running NBC sitcom.

“Did anyone feel raped by that?” Schumer asks the jury. “How about drugged? Me either. I felt comforted by a familiar father figure.”

Schumer then breaks down “logically” why Cosby can’t be guilty. “I’m a good person,” she says. “I like this good show. Last time I checked, good plus good did not equal guilty.”

She then proceeds to bribe the jury with pudding pops and colorful sweaters before going into her summation. “Let’s remind ourselves what’s at stake here,” she says. “If convicted, the next time you put on a rerun of ‘The Cosby Show,’ you may wince a little.”
