‘Baby Daddy’ Renewed for Season 5 at ABC Family

ABC Family original comedy “Baby Daddy” has been handed a fifth season renewal, the cabler announced Friday, as production on season four wrapped.

“Comedy is an important part of ABC Family’s make-up,” said Karey Burke, exec VP, programming and development. “We’re excited to see where Dan (Berendsen, creator-executive producer) takes these lovable characters and look forward to more great comedy from the cast.”

“Baby Daddy” is the top cable series in the Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. timeslot in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and females 12-34, and is the No. 1 original cable TV telecast in women 18-49.

ABC Family is also home to comedies “Young and Hungry,” which returns with its spring premiere on March 25, and “Melissa & Joey,” which comes to a close on March 18 with the final and 100th episode.

New original comedy pilots “Kevin at Work,” from “Chasing Life” exec producer Aaron Kaplan, and “Tough Cookie,” from “Awkward’s” Lauren Iungerich, began production in January.

The “Baby Daddy” season-four finale airs March 18.
