‘The Bachelor’ Finale: What’s Next for Sean Lowe?

Sean Lowe's journey has ended -- or has it? While the hunky star of "The Bachelor" has found love and impending marriage -- he proposed to 26-year-old graphic designer Catherine Giudici on the finale of his season -- it's not the end of his stint on the small screen.

On the highly anticipated finale of the long-running ABC dating show, Sean got down on one knee and told his bride-to-be, "I miss you every time I have to say goodbye. I don't want to say goodbye anymore. I want to spend the rest of my life telling you I love you and making you feel like the most special, beautiful woman in the world."

For the record, only on this show would a newly engaged couple ride off into the sunset on an elephant. This was definitely a jumbo-sized proposal!

Then, in hour three of the most bloated "Bachelor" finale ever, Sean and his lady love announced that they will be tying the knot on TV, courtesy of ABC.

"A marriage follows a proposal," Sean said on the live "After the Final Rose" finale special. "We don't have a date yet, but we have decided that we think it would be cool, since our relationship started -- and it was developed and cultivated -- on a TV show, we'll have our wedding on a TV show. And ABC will cover the wedding."

Of course, this won't be the first made-for-TV wedding for "The Bachelor" franchise. In December, "The Bachelorette" star Ashley Hebert married her final pick, J.P. Rosenbaum, in a lavish televised ceremony, while the very first "Bachelorette" star, Trista Rehn Sutter, reportedly raked in seven figures for her ABC-hosted wedding. Even Jason Mesnick -- who was crucified for his on-camera breakup with original pick Melissa Rycroft -- managed to negotiate a paid-for TV wedding with Molly Malaney.

On the "After the Final Rose" show, Catherine Giudici hinted that the wedding will be soon.

"I don't see why there will be any waiting period. I want to be his wife," she said.

Interestingly, during Catherine's hometown date, her sisters told Sean that they didn't think she was ready to settle down any time soon. But one thing's for sure: Catherine seems ready to pack up and move. She told Sean, "I'm pretty expired in Seattle right now." He lives in Dallas, but rumor has it she has her eye on the Big Apple.

Of course, these kids may be making L.A. their home for the time being.

"Good Morning America" made the official announcement that Sean will be competing on Season 16 of "Dancing With the Stars." That means he'll be logging a ton of rehearsal time with pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd, as well as participating in twice-weekly live shows. (Hey, even if he doesn't win the mirror ball trophy, at least he'll get some serious practice in for that first wedding dance!)

Meanwhile, Catherine told "GMA" she wants a traditional wedding ceremony, but added, "I know we want to have fun, and I know that just our personalities will bring that out anyway."

Sean Lowe will make his "Dancing With the Stars" debut on March 18 at 8 PM on ABC.
