‘The Bachelor’ Season 17: A sneak peek at Sean Lowe’s upcoming season

Yahoo Contributor Network

It's almost time for the premiere of the 17th installment of ABC's "The Bachelor," and that means we've got a rundown of "safe" spoilers to get you to the start of the season. Check out our sneak peek at Sean Lowe's upcoming "Bachelor" stint.

Familiar faces

ABC has released photos and bios of the women competing for Sean's heart, and if you think one girl looks familiar, you're right. Paige Vigil, the super fan who competed on "Bachelor Pad 3" last summer, is among Sean's hopefuls. If Paige's name and face still don't ring a bell (if you blinked during "BP3" you missed her), perhaps you'll remember her as the girl whom fan favorite Reid Rosenthal flirted with and later rallied for. She went home on the first night of "Bachelor Pad," so let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

In case you missed the promo, a mystery woman from another "Bachelor" season will show up to vie for Sean's heart, giving him a pool of 26 lovely ladies to choose from. But if you think this goes over well, a quick look at previous seasons reveals that blasts from the past never fly on this show. Remember last season, when former "Bachelor" cast member Shawntel Newton unexpectedly turned up to woo Ben Flajnik? Suffice it to say she got a chilly reception from the other women on the show.

Speaking of blasts from the past, guess who's stopping by to give Sean dating advice? It's his "The Bachelorette" rival, Arie Luyendyk Jr.! Sean and Arie both got dumped by Emily Maynard, so they have something in common, but according to an ABC press release, the race car driver offers Sean "some hilarious, if questionable advice." Sounds like filler to us!

A gray wedding?

The promo shows one of the contestants arriving to meet Sean while wearing a wedding dress. But if you think that scares him off, how about the girl who's obsessed with the erotica book, "Fifty Shades of Grey?" (Can't you just see Sean heading for the hills now?)

There's also a cruise ship singer, a poker dealer, a bridal consultant (gee, she'll have experience), a back-flipping engineer, and three girls named Ashley. And don't worry, there's a trio of models -- fitness and fashion -- thrown in for good measure.

No shirt, no problem

Got abs? Sean does. And you'll be seeing plenty of them. Executive producer Mike Fleiss has already tweeted: "He'll be the most shirtless bachelor-- ever!!!" Fleiss also tweeted that Sean has "become a great kisser." As opposed to the type of kisser he was before the show? Must have gotten lots of practice!

Final rose of the season

This season marks a first-ever pit stop for "The Bachelor" franchise. According to spoiler king Reality Steve, Sean's final rose ceremony takes place in Thailand. But will he head back to the States an engaged man? Stay tuned!

"The Bachelor" Season 17 premieres on Monday, Jan. 7 at 8 PM ET on ABC.
