This article, Bachelorette Host: Kaitlyn Telling Shawn He's "The One" is a Bigger Issue Than Sex with Nick, originally appeared on TVGuide.com.

The Bachelorette's Shawn better stop second-guessing Kaitlyn if he's going to make it to the end.

Monday picked up with Shawn asking Kaitlyn point-blank if she's in love with him. Although she somewhat reassured him by saying, "I'm falling in love with you," it was the first of three separate conversations the pair had throughout the episode about the state of their relationship and why Kaitlyn should've never told him he was "the one" so early on.

As if Kaitlyn didn't already have enough to process, host Chris Harrison shook things up and informed her, and later the guys, that hometown dates would be postponed. Instead, three of the men will be moving ahead to the fantasy suite. So, what really was behind that change? And when will we see Kaitlyn spill the beans about sex with Nick? Harrison is back from Paradise to break down the episode!

The Bachelorette: Why Kaitlyn won't keep Sex with Nick a secret from the guys

Would you agree that Shawn was pretty needy this episode?
Harrison: I wouldn't say needy, but he's definitely more high-maintenance and more demanding of her time. Obviously, if you're on The Bachelorette, you should understand she's dating other guys, but what real person who's falling in love can understand that? Realistically, you'd feel like Shawn does. So, while it seems high-maintenance in a lot of ways, it's justifiable because it's how a lot of us would feel when we're starting a relationship. But he's got to give her some leeway and some space because after a while it can be negative.

Is this going to be a theme for him throughout the rest of the season?
Harrison: Yeah it really is, and it's also just a theme for her. Kaitlyn is so emotional and open and honest that it gets her in trouble sometimes. You saw it last week with Nick... and then she said what she did to Shawn, which she shouldn't have because it's not fair to anybody. It's not that you don't feel it at the time, but you can't stay true to that and then go through the show and really give yourself a chance. It's confusing for her and for Shawn, who constantly needs reassurance and wants that affirmation. She tries to give it to him, but maybe too hard.

Why it's not a big deal that Kaitlyn had sex on The Bachelorette

How come she seemed more concerned with telling Shawn he's the one than having sex with Nick?
Harrison:
It's easy to put such weight on a physical act and that seems like a bigger deal that could be more regretful, but to me what she said to Shawn is a bigger deal. The Nick thing you can come back from and move past. But how do you come back from telling someone they're the one? It's a tough thing to try and take five steps back and reset and say, "Let's go back to the way it was." How do you try to keep Shawn from taking that to heart and dial it back and realize there are guys in this game and it's not over?

J.J. andJoe had the dreaded two-on-one date, which wasn't as awkward as they tend to be. Harrison: It wasn't this big adversarial relationship like the Ashley and Kelsey situation, so those two were kind of just there.

Were you as surprised as I was that Joe said, "I love you?"
Harrison:
I find him hard to read. When he says [he's falling], you're a little taken aback. Maybe it's just his nature and [we didn't] see the depth. So, you hear that and you think, "Whoa that came out of the blue." I was [more] surprised that J.J. made it as long as he did.

You and Kaitlyn spoke before the rose ceremony, but not about her and Nick having sex. Were you not going to bring it up unless she did?
Harrison: I obviously knew about it, but I didn't talk to her about it until she brought it up to me. It's definitely one of those things where she needed to broach the subject, and if she wanted to get it off her chest and talk about it, then I would let her. If it were clouding her judgment, then I would've had to dive into it, but it didn't seem to be affecting her in a negative way. It would've been a juicy conversation, but maybe something a girlfriend would've talked to her about and it didn't have any bearing on what would happen at the rose ceremony.

The Bachelorette's Chris Harrison: As soon as Kaitlyn saw Nick, it was over

Nick, by the way, didn't stop talking pre-rose ceremony when he should've. It made me uncomfortable.
Harrison:
There's something about Nick -- and it's so hard to put a finger on it -- but he bugs people. If you think about it, he's not a bad guy, and in the world of Bachelor evilness, he doesn't rank on the scale. There are things you can take issue with ... but man does he rub everyone the wrong way. He has this way of saying or doing the wrong thing at the wrong time, and I don't know if it's the attitude, but it's like nails on a chalkboard to people. But it's not like that to women, which is the other thing that really drives guys crazy, especially the effect he has on Kaitlyn. That is frustrating and drives jealousy.

What did you think when he got emotional during his chat with Kaitlyn?
Harrison: I'm interested to see the reaction people have to her being so worried. I get why she was saying it because if and when she comes clean, she wants to do it on her own terms. But what an odd thing to have to worry about. No Bachelor or Bachelorette has had to worry about that before. The thing with Nick is you just never know what he will all of a sudden use. So the [conversation] was uncomfortable and awkward.

I was a little surprised (and bummed) thatBen Z.got the boot.
Harrison: It's a matter of numbers, and maybe Joe would've been on the chopping block [had he not gotten the date rose]. He's so easy to love and women will be throwing parties since he's back on the market, but she wasn't seeing it with him and that's what it comes down to.

After the group headed to Killarney, you informed everyone that fantasy suite dates are next! Was there more to that decision?
Harrison:
This was a decision that happened on the fly, literally. We felt the dynamic had changed so much that we were already far beyond the stage of meeting four families. We thought, let's solve what's going on with her now and then bring the families in. It's a weird thing to put into terms, but I fully agreed with it and was on board. Hometowns week is a big break, and often it's a good break. But with Kaitlyn, what made sense was to continue on this path because she's already stepping on the gas and then let's take a step back.

The episode ended withChris and Kaitlyn's one-on-one, where the poor guy was left hysterically crying over a cliff. But I can't imagine you were shocked by his exit.
Harrison: There was just no chemistry. It wasn't happening. He's a good guy and there was something early on with them, but it never went beyond that. Maybe that's something he hears a lot, always getting stuck in the friend zone.

Kaitlyn told me she'll be honest about having sex with "the relationships that have meant something" to her. Is that coming sooner than later?
Harrison:
People are going to be up in arms with the way she's acting right now about trying to cover up the Nick thing, but people need to give her time. She does deal with it, just in her own way. I respected the way she goes about handling it. The main thing now is the show did a 180 and we're flying by the seat of our pants. We're staying in Ireland one more week, which wasn't the plan.

The Bachelorette airs on Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
